Okidata Printer

You will need a dot-matrix impact printer to print your deal paperwork (bank contracts, state paperwork, etc.) We recommend the Okidata 320/321 series of printers. Other impact printers may work but we cannot offer support for these. If you are planning on doing much report printing, an additional report printer (ink-jet or laser) will make your reports and window stickers look much nicer. This second printer should be able to connect to your computer using a USB cable.

You will find answers and illustrations to some of the more common printer questions below:

>> Vertical and Horizontal Alignment

Set Paper Lever to "TOP"

If you have continuous-form paper in the path, press PARK to remove it before loading your documents.

1 Make sure the printer is on and deselected (SEL light off).

2 Place the paper lever in the position marked "TOP".

3 Align

Slide the left paper guide so that there is an approximate 1/8" gap as shown below:

4 Insert your form:

Making sure left edge of paper is next to the left paper guide.

5 Make sure to take note of the alignment window (See Below) which will instruct you where to align the form for proper printing.

6 Click OK, the document will then print.  If it has not printed exactly on the line you may have to adjust your vertical starting position.

7 Vertical and Horizontal Alignment Control

If the print drifts above or below the line follow the procedure below:

Click on the "Document Printing" button in Lot Wizard.
Click on and open the form you want to align.
When you get to the 'Alignment Window" (see below):

Click on the "Alignment" button.

A new "Form Alignment Settings" window will open and it is here that you will adjust your form.  (See below):

Use the Line Feed Drift Adjustment slide bar to align the print vertically.  For instance, if you are printing above the line, then move the bar down.  If you are printing below the line, then move the bar upwards.

Use the Horizontal Adjustment slide bar to align the print horizontally.  Using the same method as above, if it is printing too far left, then move the slide bar a little to the right. If it is printing too far right, then move the slide bar to the left.

Once you have made your adjustments, click "OK".

A new window asking if you wish to save the changes to your Defaults will appear.

Click "Yes".

You can now print your document to view the adjustments.

User trial and error may come into play with aligning your forms perfectly, since printers and their environments vary with use.
