Step 4: Trade
Information
The Trade(s) tab allows you
to enter up to two different trade vehicles for the deal you are
processing. The software keeps each trade vehicle's information in
separate tabs marked 1st Trade and 2nd Trade. You can
enter the requested vehicle information, and the vehicles can then
be added to your inventory list.
When you have completed the Trade(s) section, click the
Finished button with the red check mark.

Entering a Trade Vehicle
Information
Enter a stock number of the vehicle in the Stock Number
box. If you have set up the software to automatically generate stock numbers for
you, simply click the Create button, and the software will
fill in the stock number.
Enter the VIN. If you are using the software's built-in VIN decoder, it will
attempt to decode the VIN and enter some of the vehicle information
for you.
Enter the odometer information in the Odometer box. You
can show that the odometer is in excess of its mechanical limits by
clicking the checkbox marked Excess of Mechanical Limits. If
there is a discrepancy between the actual mileage of the vehicle
and the display on the odometer, click the check box marked
Odometer Discrepancey. For example, you would check this box
if the odometer was broken and needed to be replaced on the
vehicle.
If the VIN decoding system has not entered any other information
for you, you should enter the rest of the vehicle information
now.
Entering Trade Vehicle Payoff
Information
If the trade vehicle has payoff information, enter it in this
section. You can enter the payoff company name and address.
The software will automatically fill in the trade vehicle's
owner information with the information entered for the primary
buyer. If you wish to override this data, click the check box
marked Override Trade Owner Information. This will allow you
to type over any information displayed for the owner(s) of the
trade vehicle.
