Compacting and Repairing the Database

This feature of the utilities program allows you to compact the database file. When you compact the database file, the file takes up less memory on your hard drive and can also be accessed quicker for faster program response time.

To compact your database file, you will first need to make sure that no one else is currently using the software. Next, click the Compact/Repair Database button.

The utilities program will attempt to compact the database file. The outcome of the process, be it success or failure, is then reported to you.
